Agricultural development
Supporting farmers with knowledge, inputs and sustainable practice.

Our belief
Lydia Alonge AgriLife Foundation works to empower farmers, women, youth and vulnerable communities through sustainable agriculture, training, economic opportunity and community development.
Across rural Oyo State, the people who grow the food carry the least of its value. Harvests are sold at the farm gate on the worst day of the year. Women with real skill lack the one machine that would turn that skill into income. Young people leave the land because nobody has shown them that agriculture is also enterprise.
We exist to close those gaps: training that arrives with the tools to use it, farming methods that hold up as the climate shifts, and a route from the field to a buyer. We serve smallholder farmers, women, young people and households that wider programmes tend to pass over.
Our mission
To empower farmers, women and vulnerable communities through training, tools, climate-smart practice and access to markets.
Our vision
A future where every community has the opportunity to thrive through sustainable agriculture and inclusive economic development.
What we do
Supporting farmers with knowledge, inputs and sustainable practice.
Creating room for women to participate, lead and earn.
Helping smallholders raise productivity, income and resilience.
Agricultural education, vocational skills and capacity building.
Skills, enterprise and a route into agriculture for young people.
Responsible farming that protects soil, water and habitat.
Stronger, more resilient local food systems.
Initiatives that lift the quality of life in underserved communities.
Our impact
The foundation was incorporated in February 2026. These figures are being verified from programme records before we publish them.

Women
Women do a great deal of the farming and most of the food processing in rural Oyo State, and hold the least of the equipment. Our empowerment work puts the machine, the training and the market contact in the same pair of hands — and then stays in touch.

Youth
Young people leave farming because it is presented to them as subsistence. We present it as it actually is: business, logistics, processing, trade and enterprise, with a machine or a means of transport to start from.
Enterprise · Skills · Processing · Trade

Sustainability
Soil health, water discipline, drought-tolerant varieties and planting calendars adjusted to a rainy season that no longer arrives on schedule. Climate-smart agriculture is not an add-on to our programmes; it is how they are designed.

Certified by the Corporate Affairs Commission under RC 9324189, with three appointed trustees.
June 2026

Get involved
Support agricultural and community programmes directly.
Contribute time, teaching or professional expertise.
Collaborate with us on design, delivery or funding.
Fund a single initiative end to end, reported against agreed indicators.
Host and support local implementation in your community.
Back one smallholder through a full season of training and inputs.
More farmers trained. More women equipped. More young people with a reason to stay on the land. We are looking for the partners who will make the next season larger than the last.
Lydia Alonge AgriLife Foundation is a not-for-profit, non-political organisation registered in Nigeria as an incorporated trustee body, working from Ibadan across rural Oyo State.
Six programme areas, one for each objective in our constitution. The Empowerment Programme is running; the rest are in design and open to partnership.
We need trainers, agronomists, artisans willing to teach their trade, and people who can help with logistics on programme days.
